2 Commonly Made Dieting Mistakes

Knowing the basics of weight loss is often the key to success. However, sometimes exercise and a healthy diet are not enough. A lot of people have found themselves in quite a predicament when regular physical activity and a weight friendly diet have proven unsuccessful. In this article I will discuss two commonly made dieting mistakes which hold us back from fitting into our favorite pair of jeans.

Unhealthy snacking is one of the most commonly made dieting mistakes. Many of us eat rather healthy meals; however, when it comes down to midday snacks we can be quite careless. There is a bag of pretzels hidden in our desk at work, there is a doughnut in the employee lounge and there is a bite from your child’s ice cream sundae. All of these little snacks add up to quite a large calorie punch. However, there is such a thing as healthy snacking. If you feel your stomach rumbling and its not quite time for dinner yet, there are numerous healthy alternatives. Try some peanuts, salt free baked crackers, fruit or veggies. Research has shown that people who eat several small meals throughout the day, along with healthy snacking, are much more likely to lose weight.

Another dieting mistake that a lot people make is skipping breakfast. People who want to lose weight often think about ways that they can cut out unnecessary calories. However, skipping breakfast should not be one of the options. When we skip breakfast we are more likely to snack throughout the day as well as eat a rather hardy lunch. A healthy breakfast can help sustain your hunger just like the appetite suppressing diet pills. So if you are interested in quick weight loss, be sure that you don’t fall victim to these two commonly made mistakes.
